I once met an artist at a fair who was experimenting with Polaroid film. He influenced them himself. He didn't put the film in the machine anymore, but he pushed the ink himself so that stains formed. His name is Jaap de Raat.
I thought it was super interesting and months later it stuck in my head. In the end, I chose to try it myself. First I tried to take pictures in the dark and then edit them with objects afterwards. Something came out, but not enough.
In the end, I managed to get the film out of a plastic case which you put in the camera. (I use modern polaroid film, fuji Instax mini)
At the bottom is a kind of bag that contains ink. You can press it out yourself with your fingers and spread it over the surface. I've put the Polaroids in the sun, glued them to the heater, put them in the fridge, put them in different liquids, etc. I've tested everything to see what it affects.
