First experiment
using plexiglass
plexiglass doesn’t melt, it burns

May 11, 2022
- using shredded PET
- 110 degrees 45 min after 15 minutes nothing
happens
- 150 degrees after 15 min set
- 190 degrees again after 15 min
- After about 5 to 8 min it becomes soft you
smell it too
- After 15 minutes now it’s melting well
- added 30 min

May 16, 2022
- Start 190 degrees 45 min
- used weight

May 18, 2022
- 190 degrees
- First heat up for an hour
- Failed, it has not melted properly
May 23, 2022
- Used old plastic from the last time
- Is already something together
- 45 min
- Again on top of baking paper and weight
- After time tried to crush plastic with
weight
- Paper tears something. You can see that
the plastic is much more fluid it doesn't need a higher temperature
- To make it flatter, less has to go in

May 23, 2022
- Less in the oven tray
- More weight
- Baking paper slightly stuck
- After oven:
- You can see that the parts that have not
been under the weight are still wet, so it is
still warm and liquid
- See the pieces where the round weight has
been look different

May 24, 2022
Tried with press. Have repeated all the
steps that I normally do, only there was no
weight on it beforehand. The oven has been
in the wood workshop, but that was not a
success. The extraction system could not
adequately handle the smell, which caused
a lot of odour nuisance. The smell was very
nauseating and gave you a headache. So
next time I will always do it in the plastic
workshop.

May 31, 2022
- Different material (PET)
- Start at 190 degrees
- After 15 min the plastic is not yet soft
- Almost half an hour and not yet soft
- Temperature higher than 220
- After 15 min not yet soft
- Temperature raised to 240
- After 30 min still still not soft
- moved to 260
- Failed, it burned

May 31, 2022
- 190 degrees
- first time using a mould
- 45 min in it
- mould has melted to the plastic
- bought the wrong mold

June 1, 2022
- 190 degrees
- Molds for baking
- The bear has been in it for 60 min
- 2nd shell
- 220 degrees
- 60 min

June 15, 2022
- Used moulds
- More material in the mould
- 220 degrees
- 45 min in the oven
- Needs more material
